2013 Memories

In 2013 my baseball team the Badgers were undefeated in our league it was my first time to ever be on an undefeated team.It was awesome to be on a team that had never lost a game.We were a really good team from the start of the season to the end of the season but we did start out rusty. My second memory from 2013 is from Christmas when I got an I phone 5c it was better than my old phone an I phone 4s.It was also better because it didn’t have a crack like my 4s did.I liked it so much so when I got it I went crazy because it was awesome. Then my last memory was at my dad’s house also during Christmas which I got a real gun.It was awesome and cool.So now when my dad goes hunting with his friends and I’m with him I can get to use my gun. Those are my 2013 memories.

Henry Hudson

June 1611   Explorers Gazette

In 1602 the Dutch started a trading business called the Dutch East India company. One of their goals was to search for the Northwest Passage to the Indies. The company found an experienced sailor named Henry Hudson to lead the search. In 1609 Hudson set off from the Netherlands with a crew of 20.They sailed in a ship called the Half Moon.As they traveled north, the weather grew colder and colder.Hudson abandoned his search for the Northwest Passage, turned the ship around, and sailed southwest toward America. When it was 1610 Henry Hudson was hired by England to find the Northwest Passage.Hudson sailed off to northern Canada in a ship called the Discovery. He was sure he had found the Northwest Passage when he discovered a 450-mile-long passage way.The passage way ,later called Hudson Strait, led to a large bay,now called Hudson Bay.When winter set in,the bay froze over. The Discovery froze in ice.In June of 1611,when the weather warmed,Hudson set sail. The crew thought Hudson was sailing back home to England, but they soon realized he was sailing west continue searching for the North Passage.Wanting desperately to go home, the angry crew put Hudson, his son,and seven other loyal crewman into a small boat and left them in the bay.Hudson and the others in the boat were never found again.
